The fifties diner
Many times I have someth
ing buried down inside my head. (yeah it's scary in there). When these items get in there they gotta come out. This eat sign was one that I Wanted to make. I had the style in my mind and translated it into the final project. I waited at least 3 weeks to paint it. Picking the colors proved to be a little difficult. In the end here is the result. I have found that I like glidden paints. I painted the back strips pink peony and the letters were clear blue sky. Even though it look like baby colors, this rendition has been released from mind just as I was it before the sawdust settled.;-)

Now how cute is this. This doesn't seem like much but the "&" also known as the Ampersand has a loaded meaning. Many people like to display this on a bookcase or shelf somewhere. Others will hang this up on the wall. Where it is cherrished the most it seems is as wedding and photography decor. Many like to display one of these as the center piece in their wedding (the bigger one of course). Many couples will have their pictures taken while holding the sign in between themselves. Either way it is a symbol that we all know and a cute cut out to display. We have had alot of fun cutting these out.
In the beginning..........
Ok, lets not go that far back but hey you need to know a little about us. Susan and I were sweethearts way back when. We were married in 1994 after a wonderful courtship. 18 years, a few grey hairs, and three boys later here we are. Still in love still hangin out in the shop and still cuttin out wooden crafts.
I have completed undergrad school and am currently attending grad school (I know what am I thinking?). My dream is to be able to make a living selling the crafts that we so much enjoy making. In this blog I am going to be simple and straight. I want to share some of the creations we make and show you what is made.... After the Sawdust Settles
